Flextronics jobs under threat

Around 100 jobs are under threat at Flextronics in Limerick as the company seeks to lower its cost base.

The firm, which employs 290 people in the city, provides warehousing and logistics services for a large number of companies in the region, including computer giant Dell, according to breakingnews.ie. Talks between unions and management are ongoing, with a decision on the number of job losses expected to be announced next week.

Flextronics, which recently announced record second-quarter results, is making no comment on the issue.
