E.coli outbreak at East Clare school

Lessons for infants have been suspended after a deadly strain of the E.coli bug was found in a school classroom.

It has been confirmed that two separate cases of the killer bug were found in the same classroom of a school in East Clare, the Irish Times reports. A representative for the Health Service Executive revealed that two linked cases of the Verotoxigenic E.coli infection had been found in the same classroom.

While the school in question has not been named to avoid widespread panic, it is believed to be based in the Clonlara area.
