Passengers due to fly with Ryanair from Faro in Portugal to Shannon last night have been delayed after their plane experienced a bird strike.The plane was landing in Faro when the incident occurred. Speaking to The Clare Herald one passenger said that a strong burning smell was noticed by passengers as they landed in the Algarve airport. A subsequent inspection of the engine cleared it for take off. As the plane was due to take off, some passengers became concerned about the same smell onboard.
A spokesperson from The Irish Aviation Authority said they have no concerns about the safety of the aircraft.
