The contentious issue of Traveller Accommodation in Ennistymon is up for discussion at the July meeting of Clare County Council later today, Clare FM news reports.
Some locals in the Glan South area of the North Clare Town have urged their elected representatives to block the development of a site close to their homes, but insist they're not anti-traveller. They have proposed an alternative site nearby which they say would be safer, given the planned site's proximity to the main Ennis to Ennistymon Road.
A series of meetings has seen tensions rise between some residents and councillors who claim they can't control the location of traveller accommodation and are being treated like dirt.
