Ennis Bypass Signage To Be Reviewed

Questions are being raised over safety on the new N18 Ennis bypass after dozens of vehicles have been seen driving on the wrong side of the road.

According to the Irish Independent, Gardai and Clare County Council have received numerous similar reports but say so far, no collisions have yet been reported. It is also understood that most of those involved have been elderly drivers.

The problems on the N18 emerged after motorists complained about signage and layout on another major artery, the Red Cow M50/N7 Naas Road interchange in Dublin. "We are aware of five incidents which occurred before Christmas and have since asked the contractor to review the signage," a spokesman for Clare County Council said.
