Fisherman rescued in Mayo

A fisherman has been taken to hospital following a rescue operation by the Ballyglass Lifeboat off the County Mayo coast this morning.

The man is understood to have collapsed on board a vessel in Broadhaven Bay. He was brought to Ballyglass pier by the lifeboat and transferred to Castlebar General Hospital. Source - breakingnews.ie.

Mayor backs speedy opening of Drogheda sports stadium

Talks are underway to reopen a Drogheda sports stadium.

New town mayor Michael O'Dowd has proposed the Lourdes athletics and sport stadium be opened swiftly.

"The first call I made the morning after my election was to Joe Coyle who is one of the most respected individuals in the region when it comes to athletics," the mayor told build.ie.

Body found at Cliffs of Moher

Emergency services have recovered a body from the sea beneath the Cliffs of Moher.

The body of the man was located last night after the alarm was raised. GardaĆ­ in Ennistymon are investigating the incident.
