Murdered teen to be buried in Kerry tomorrow

The funeral of a teenager who was killed in County Kerry earlier this week will take place tomorrow.

The body of Stephen Lyne was found on the side of a road near his home in Killarney in the early hours of Thursday morning. The 17-year-old had been stabbed and gardaí are treating his death as murder.

Suspected Swine Flu case in Kerry

A child being treated at Kerry General Hospital in Tralee has been tested for the swine flu virus after presenting with symptoms.

It is understood the child had recently returned from the US and is now being treated in isolation at the hospital.

A spokeswoman for the HSE refused to comment when contacted by RTÉ News.

Cruiser towed to safety in Cork

A cruiser boat that got into difficulty in Courtmacsherry Bay in County Cork this morning has been towed to safety.

The Courtmacsherry Lifeboat was called out just before 11am, according to breakingnews.ie. The stricken boat and its two crew members have now been brought to safety.
