Up to 50 jobs have been saved in County Donegal following a deal to secure the future of a Rossnowlagh hotel.
The Standhouse Hotel went into voluntary liquidation earlier this year, reports breakingnews.ie. However a new management team has now been established to take over the running of the hotel from the liquidator.
The Minister for Education and Science, Batt O’Keeffe TD, today opened a new extension in Ballygown National School, Castletownroche, Co Cork.
The school was allocated EUR735,000 as part of the Small Schools Scheme enabling it to build two extra classrooms, storage rooms, special education rooms and a general purpose room, and to refurbish and extend the existing school classrooms.
Speaking at the school, Minister O’Keeffe said parents and the local community had worked tirelessly to progress the project. “This extension and refurbishment project would not have happened without the dedication and hard work of many people here today Ballygown National School has four mainstream teachers, two special education teachers and four special needs assistants. The school is well known for its extra-curricular activities such as a visual arts, music lessons, drama, orienteering and GAA games.”
