The Health Service Executive is investigating a case of swine flu in a pupil at a national school in Castlebar, County Mayo.
The child concerned is seven years old and in first class. She is being treated at home and is responding well to that treatment. RTÉ News is reporting that the majority of parents in the school, Breaffy NS just outside Castlebar, have already withdrawn their children.
More than 300 children are on the school roll but parents have been collecting their children from school all morning and bringing them home.
Pilot and former policeman Hugh McKnight, a 54-year-old retired police officer, and Stephen Annett and Andrew Burden, both 24, were all from the Annalong area of County Down.
The accident happened as they returned from the Isle of Man TT motorcycle races last Friday.

Clare FM, News reports that the Superintendent of Ennis Gardaí will address members of Ennis Town Council today and outline the progress made in their investigations into the anti social behaviour.
Junior Minister John Maloney told Clare Fine Gael TD Pat Breen last evening that Ennis Gardaí have the support of regional units as well as other divisional personnel.
