Works to restore Ballynahinch homes destroyed in a blaze last year have been completed, according to build.ie.
Twelve residents living in the Loughside Drive block of flats were relocated by the Housing Executive while the fire damage was repaired. Many of the residents had been living in temporary accommodation whilst others made their own arrangements, some moving in with family and others to alternative permanent accommodation.
Social Development Minister Margaret Ritchie welcomed the residents back to their newly renovated homes.
Plans for a major enterprise centre for Boyle in Roscommon are being put on hold.
The proposal, spearheaded by the Chamber of Commerce will see the construction of a two storey development to include four light industrial units and eight incubator office units at Castlefinogue. Shannonside Radio reports that the main objective of the centre is to provide affordable work space for start up business ventures.
It’s understood Enterprise Ireland has provided funding of 350 thousand euro for the project.
A two-day international conference on breast cancer takes place in Galway city this week.
NUI Galway will host the conference tomorrow and Friday, which will focus on multidisciplinary breast cancer care. Surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists and breast care nurses are among the experts taking part in the conference.
