Child recovers following Tyrone dog attack

A three-year-old girl has been seriously injured after being attacked by a dog in County Tyrone.

The little girl was out walking her dog with a family member in Magheramore when the attack took place.

She sustained injuries to her neck, head and face and was brought to hospital where her wounds were described as serious but not life threatening, according to RTE.

Laois hold out despite late Louth comeback

MJ Tierney kicked six points for Laois as the Laois held out for a four-point victory at O'Moore Park today, reports the Irish Examiner. Laois led by 1-09 to 0-04 at half-time thanks to a goal from midfielder Pauric Clancy.

Louth kept in touch thanks to the efforts of Darren Clarke, but Laois built up an 11-point lead 13 minutes after the interval, following Ross Munnelly's opening score. Louth then responded well, inspired by substitute Aaron Hoey.

Hoey's 59th-minute goal gave them a life-line, but Laois held firm.

19 yr old man missing from Rathfarnham

GardaĆ­ in Dublin are seeking the public's assistance in tracing the whereabouts of a 19-year-old man missing from Rathfarnam, reports RTE.

Craig Lindsey (pictured left) was last seen in the Nutgrove Avenue area on 12 June 2009 at around 1pm. He is described as being 6ft 2in tall, slim build, with blue eyes and brown hair. When last seen he was wearing a light green fleece top, blue jeans and brown shoes.
