Brassil Holds On To Top Job

North Kerry councillor John Brassil has been reappointed as chairman of Shannon Development by the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment, Mary Coughlan.

Cllr Brassil, from Ballyheigue, is a qualified civil engineer and pharmacist. He has been a member of Kerry County Council since 1999 and a member of the Shannon Development Board since 2004.

End of the road for bus routes?

Bus services from Limerick to Shannon could be affected by Bus Éireann Plans to cut back on routes.

Clare FM news reports that the company plans to axe 52 routes to cut costs and break even for the year, including route numbers 343 and 344 Limerick-Shannon services.

Route 418 from Gort to Galway is also included in the list, which is believed to have been circulated to unions, though no other local services in Clare have been mentioned.
