Gardaí in Killaloe are investigating the circumstances surrounding a brawl that erupted in the village over the weekend.
The row between feuding traveller families broke out early Sunday morning at a family function in the Kincora Hotel in Killaloe, Clare FM reports. Gardaí from Killaloe as well as Garda stations in Clare, Limerick and Tipperary attended the row as did the armed Regional Support Unit.
Around 50 people were involved in the brawl which was brought under control within an hour. No arrests were made but Gardaí say investigations are continuing.

A man, believed to be in his 20s, has been seriously injured in a road crash in South East Clare overnight.
The single vehicle accident happened on the Broadford to Limerick road shortly before three o'clock this morning.
