ANTRIM - Sainsbury's To Create 100 Jobs In Belfast

Sainsbury's is to create 100 jobs in west Belfast, it was revealed today.

The supermarket store in Andersonstown will be the largest Sainsbury's in the North when it opens in late summer, BUSINESSWORLD.ie reports. Check-out, shop floor and supervisory staff will be hired and all existing workers at the closing Curley's outlet on the site will be offered transfers to Sainsbury's.

Clare Man Cleared Of Abuse

A Clare man has been cleared of sexually abusing his former partner's daughter over a number of years while the girl was aged between eight and 15 years old, Breakingnews.ie reports.

The 40-year-old man had pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to 15 counts of rape, two of anal rape and one of sex assault against the girl at various locations in Co. Clare between December 1998 and May 2005.

The jury of nine men and three women acquitted him of all charges after three hours of deliberation and a six-day trial. Mr Justice John Edwards thanked them for their care and attention and told the man he was free to go.
