The Clare Champion newspaper has announced that it will be relaunching its website on May 28th.

The website, www.clarechampion.ie, was last updated in 2005. The news is likely to be welcomed by Clare people around the world eager to keep in touch with County Clare's oldest weekly newspaper. The broadsheet already has a significant subscription base oustide the country.

The Clare Courier and Clare People newspapers already have a strong online presence.

Lahinch Lifeguard Centre To Be Officially Opened

Clare County Council announced today that the new state-of-the-art lifeguard facility in Lahinch will be officially opened later this month.

Mayor of Clare Councillor Madeleine Taylor Quinn will officially open the Lahinch Lifeguard Centre – the largest of its kind anywhere in Ireland – on Friday, 22 May 2009.
