Apache Pizza to open new store in Ennis

Apache Pizza is to open three new outlets that will create 85 jobs as part of an expansion.

The company is planning to open in Ennis, Co Clare, Greystones, Co Wicklow and Balbriggan in north Dublin.

It opened a new outlet in Galway last week as demand for take-out food increases as consumers cut back on their visits to restaurants. The company already has 40 stores in the State employing 750 people.

Man killed near Cooraclare

A man has died in a road crash in West Clare.

The man, who was in his late 50s, died when the car he was driving collided with a tree at Tullabrack, Cooraclare at around 5.10pm on Saturday.

He was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital Limerick, where he has pronounced dead. No other vehicles were involved.
