Shannon Aer Lingus Jobs Could be Outsourced

Irish carrier Aer Lingus is said to be in talks to outsource all 1300 ground staff positions at Ireland’s Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports.

Baggage handlers, catering staff, check-in staff as well as loaders and staff working in the cargo terminal are likely to be affected as the carrier seeks to save euro100 million a year.

The Irish Independent news, which carried the story, said it costs Aer Lingus about euro80 a seat to carry passengers on short-haul flights, compared to euro60 for Easyjet and euro40 for Ryanair.

All Ireland Success For Clare Camogie

CLARE 2-08 OFFALY 1-10, Croke Park

It was a case of third time lucky for Clare as Shona Enright's injury-time goal ended their final heartbreak at Croke Park.

The Banner girls claimed the All-Ireland junior camogie title for the first time since 1986 and avenged their defeats to Dublin (2006) and Derry (2007). Carina Roseingrave's goal nudged Clare ahead but Arlene Watkins supplied 1-01 to fire Offaly to a 1-07 to 1-03 interval lead.

However, Joachim Kelly's side were left stunned by Laura Linnane's four-point haul and that decisive strike from Enright, Breakingnews.ie reports.
