Entrepreneur To Address Skillnet Event

World-renowned engineer and motivational speaker John Getty is to visit Limerick to speak at the launch of the regions first Regional Engineering Skillnet, organised by Skillnets Ltd.

Minister for Trade and Commerce, John McGuiness will also be attending the seminar launch at 12-noon on September 16, at the Castletroy Park Hotel, reports the Limerick Independent.

The Miltown Malbay-based Mid-West Regional Engineering Skillnet is funded from the National Training Fund through the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment and has evolved as a result of a group of private enterprises and five county enterprise boards in Limerick City and County, Clare, North Tipperary and North Kerry.

Mid-West most popular region for employment

The Limerick Post reports this week that a total of 2,326 students graduated at UL last week, and were told by President, Professor Don Barry of the very positive results of a recent UL graduate survey which indicated an increase in demand for their graduates by employers.

"Demand for UL graduates is at its highest in a number of years with 74% entering direct employment within a few months of graduation.
